SYMBOLS
Symbols and colors indicated by ICAO in the Annex 4 - Appendix 2 - "ICAO Charts Symbols", which define the graphic features of the contents of an Aeronautical Chart  are respected by AVIOPORTOLANO in most cases. However AVIOPORTOLANO considers that the literal and impersonal application of the symbologyes and colors indicated by ICAO leads - in some areas - to non-readability of Air Spaces boundaries and to non-comprenhension of contents of the Aeronautical Data. For this reason some variations - about symbols and colours - have been introduced by AVIOPORTOLANO ITALIA in their own Aeronautical Charts (as well as some Nations have done in their own)  which are clearly indicated in the legend. For the same reason, AVIOPORTOLANO has chosen not to publish the obstacles in its 1: 500,000 scale charts in order to not compromise the legibility of the topography and of the information that, otherwise, would be seriously compromised in some areas.
